About our clubThe Capital City Schutzhund club was formed as a not for profit organization in 2000 with a group of dedicated experienced dog handlers. Our founding members have been in the schutzhund sport and members of the GSSCC for 25 years. Our club members have a lot of experience to their credits with many high in trial scores. We have competed in local trials, regional championships, national championship and world championships. We are very proud of our accomplishments both on and off the schutzhund competition field. As well as our experience and successes on the schutzhund field our members have hosted many schutzhund trials and seminars including regional and national championships. Our members have also served on regional and national boards. We are a very active schutzhund club and host at least one schutzhund trial and seminar per year. Our club is involved in many dog training demonstartions for local groups including the Toronto sportsmanshow where we promote the schutzhund sport, dog training and responsible pet ownership. Our training sessions are coached by the most experienced handlers in our club assisting the newer members. All members are working towards competition at the highest level possible for the handler and their dog. In striving to reach our goals on the schutzhund field we believe that this cannot be accomplished without a very strong bond and relationship between the dog and the handler. Without this relationship we cannot achieve our goals. First and foremost it is about the dogs. A BBQ and a few beers after each trainig session allows us to discuss the days training and spend some time with our friends. First you need to start with a good dog from a good breeder. next you need a good dog trainer to assist you, our club has many experience dog trainers that assist all new handlers. A good local schutzhund club in Our club is always open to GSSCC members to join our training with prior notice. We are also always open to spectators who may be interested in seeing the schutshund sport. Just give us a call and we will be more than happy to have you join us for the day. If our membership is full or we are too far for you we would be happy to give you the names of clubs that are in your area. |
